Here are outfit of the day ideas for women and men to copy as they are or with one piece swapped, a simple formula to build yours without thinking, and four tricks for a good photo.

How to put together your OOTD

Start from the bottom

Choose the trousers, skirt or dress first: they set the silhouette. Then a top that balances it (loose with fitted) and finally the shoes.

One base, one piece that changes

Have a formula that works for you — straight jeans, a white tee and sneakers — and change just one piece each day: a blazer, a striped shirt, a colorful sweater. It looks new without thinking.

Check the weather and the plan

Before getting dressed, check the day’s high and low and what you’ll be doing. If the temperature swings a lot, add a layer you can take off.

How to take a good OOTD photo

Natural light, facing it

Stand facing a window, not with your back to it. Daylight shows colors and fabrics best.

Full length, phone at chest height

Make sure the shoes are in the shot. With the phone slightly below your face, your legs don’t look shorter.

A clean background

A plain wall or a door. The outfit is the star: everything behind it takes something away.

A natural pose

One foot slightly forward, a hand in a pocket or holding your bag. Take several shots in a row and keep the good one.
